Anthony Polito, the gunman responsible for the shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), had previously resigned from a teaching position at East Carolina University after making sexual comments to a student. The student reported the incident to the dean, and Polito resigned a few months later. Polito later went on to commit the shooting at UNLV, killing three professors and injuring another. It is unclear if his resignation from East Carolina University was directly related to the incident. Another student has also come forward with allegations of inappropriate conduct by Polito.
