South Florida Suffers Severe Flooding and Storm Damage.
Some Broward schools in Florida may not be able to reopen normally on Monday due to flooding damage. Students may have to temporarily attend nearby schools or return to their normal campus but not their normal classrooms. The district has yet to provide a complete list of damaged schools, but some schools of concern include Castle Hill Elementary, Dillard Elementary, Dillard 6-12, William Dandy Middle, Whidden Rogers Education Center, and Seagull Alternative High School. It is unclear whether students will have to make up the two days missed, and the district has asked the Department of Education if some of the time can be waived since it’s late in the school year and the district has already used some planned hurricane days.
