"Omaha Public Schools Names Matt Ray as New Superintendent"

Omaha Public Schools has selected Matthew Ray as the district’s next superintendent, following an executive session at the end of an open meeting. Ray, who has been serving as the interim superintendent since last Spring, has spent his entire 27-year career in the district. The decision comes after the district narrowed a field of 26 applicants to four finalists. Ray expressed his readiness to lead and a detailed contract for him will be sent back to the school board for approval. OPS board leaders emphasized the importance of community involvement in the selection process and expressed their hope for a long-term superintendent.
