Dr. Angela Chapman appointed as Columbus schools superintendent amidst controversy.

Angela Chapman, interim superintendent of Columbus City Schools, has been selected as the permanent superintendent of the district, the largest in Ohio. Chapman, who has been with the district since 2019, was the only finalist already working in the district. The other two finalists carried previous job controversies with them. Chapman holds three degrees, including a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Tennessee State University. She has led the implementation of an $8 million grant to improve the district’s “principal pipeline” and has served on administration during the sudden shift to remote learning during COVID-19.
