Biden Approves Federal Disaster Declaration for Flooded Fort Lauderdale

President Biden has declared a major disaster in Florida due to severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding from April 12 to April 14, 2023. Federal funding is available for affected individuals in Broward County, including grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans, and other recovery programs. Federal funding is also available for state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations for emergency work and facility repairs. Hazard mitigation measures statewide are also eligible for cost-sharing funding.
