Michigan Unveils Revamped Driver's Licenses and License Plates in 2024

Michigan is reviving the iconic green and white license plate in the Water Wonderland theme, similar to the one issued in 1963, as a tribute to the civil rights advancements of that year. Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson hopes the plate will serve as a reminder of the work still needed to achieve equality and justice for all. The plate can be ordered starting January 27th and personalized options are available. The previous revival of the blue and yellow "Water-Winter Wonderland" plate in 2021 was extremely popular, with over 1.2 million plates issued.
