Celebrating 45 Years of San Francisco's Carnaval Grand Parade.

The 45th annual Carnaval San Francisco parade took place in the Mission District on Sunday, celebrating the theme of "Music and Movement" and the roots of communal love and cultural resistance. The parade featured 60 contingents, including Mixtiso and the Compton High School Band, and was opened with a prayer in honor of the late organizer Miguel Angel Martinez-Perez. Participants and spectators alike embraced the healing power of cultural connection and reclaiming, with some spectators even flowing over barricades to snap photos and get closer to performers.
