Idaho Teen Arrested for Planning ISIS Church Attacks, FBI Says

The FBI has arrested an 18-year-old in Idaho for planning a violent attack on churches in Coeur d’Alene on behalf of ISIS. Alexander Mercurio faces a federal charge of attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization after allegedly devising a plan to attack people attending churches using firearms, explosives, and other weapons. The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force detected and thwarted the "truly horrific" plot, and Mercurio now faces up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
