Woman charged after stillborn baby found in Lakeland dumpster

A baby found dead in a Lakeland dumpster was a stillborn with a severe brain deformity, according to preliminary findings from the medical examiner's office. A 34-year-old woman, Brusela D'Enstachio-Lugo, has been charged with a misdemeanor related to the storage of human remains after admitting to giving birth alone outside of her home and putting the infant's remains in the dumpster. She didn't know she was pregnant and didn't go to the hospital because she was in the country illegally and didn't have any money to pay for medical expenses.
