Walgreens employee claims self-defense in shooting of pregnant shoplifting suspect.

A Walgreens employee in Nashville shot a suspected shoplifter, a 24-year-old pregnant woman, during a confrontation over stolen merchandise. The woman required an emergency C-Section and is in critical condition, while her baby is also in critical condition but not injured by the gunfire. Homicide detectives are investigating the self-defense claim of the store's team leader who shot the woman. The employee saw the pair placing items into a store cart and into a large over-the-shoulder bag, and began recording the suspects with his cell phone and followed them outside after they left the store without paying for the items.
