Volusia County Couple Charged with Brutal Child Abuse and Neglect

A couple in Volusia County, Florida, is facing multiple charges of child abuse and neglect after an investigation revealed a "brutal pattern of child neglect, abuse, and torture in the home." The investigation began after the mother of one of the children reported her boyfriend for abusing her son. The investigation revealed that the 5-year-old victim had been beaten with a mop handle, had his hands tied behind his back for hours, and had been put in a dog cage without food. Two other children in the home were also found to have been abused. The couple faces charges including child neglect, false imprisonment, evidence and witness tampering, and aggravated child abuse.
