Virginia Mom Charged After 6-Year-Old Shoots Teacher at Richneck Elementary

The mother of the 6-year-old boy who shot his first-grade teacher at Richneck Elementary School has been indicted on charges of felony child neglect and recklessly leaving a firearm as to endanger a child. The Newport News Commonwealth's Attorney has also requested a special grand jury to investigate any security issues that may have contributed to the shooting, which could lead to more indictments. The teacher's lawyer believes there were failures in accountability at multiple levels, while some parents are divided on the charges.
