Virginia man found guilty in wife murder tied to affair with au pair

A Virginia man, Brendan Banfield, was found guilty of murdering his wife Christine Banfield and a man, Joseph Ryan; prosecutors said he plotted with his Brazilian au pair, Juliana Magalhães, who had an affair with him, to lure Ryan to the house as a fall guy and stage a killing. Magalhães pleaded guilty to manslaughter and testified against Banfield, who testified in his own defense. The jury deliberated about nine hours; Banfield faces life in prison at sentencing on May 8.
