Violent Dispute in NKY Ends in Fatal Shooting

A juvenile suspect has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting in Independence, Kentucky. Police responded to the scene after witnesses took a male victim, who had been shot, to a nearby fire department. The victim was later pronounced dead at a medical center. The investigation revealed an ongoing dispute between two groups of people, and two individuals were identified as having produced a handgun. The 17-year-old suspect fired two shots, one of which struck the victim. Another individual, a 20-year-old, was also arrested and charged with complicity to murder, wanton endangerment, and tampering with evidence. Police believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
