"Vegas Judge Attacker Indicted for Attempted Murder"

Deobra Redden, who attacked a Nevada judge during a sentencing hearing, has been indicted for attempted murder. The grand jury returned a nine-count indictment against him, and his arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 29. Redden, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, was found competent to stand trial. The new indictment alleges that he attacked the judge by grabbing her, pulling her hair, and hitting her on the head, and also assaulted a police officer.
