Uptown Residents on Edge as Gun Violence Persists

A family who had recently moved to Uptown, Minneapolis from California is planning to move again after experiencing two crimes in the area over the weekend. One incident resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man, while the other involved gunfire that damaged buildings and cars, injuring two women. The family's apartment was also damaged by a bullet that struck a sprinkler, causing water to enter their unit. Concerned for their safety, the family has decided to leave the area and a fundraising page has been set up to assist them in finding a new place to live. Minneapolis police are increasing patrols and deploying specialty units in the neighborhood to address the crime.
