Two Arrested After Fatal Shooting of Gila River Officer

The Gila River Indian Community has temporarily banned dances after a tribal police officer, Joshua Briese, was fatally shot and another officer wounded while responding to a disturbance at a teenager's birthday party in Santan. The Phoenix FBI and Gila River Police Department are jointly investigating the incident, which also resulted in the death of another individual and injuries to several others. Enhanced penalties for trespassing and disorderly conduct have also been implemented.
