Twin Cities Activist and Comedian Murdered in Colombia

Tou Ger Xiong, a local Hmong activist, was kidnapped and murdered while spending the holidays in Colombia. His brother, Eh Xiong, last heard from him when Tou Ger asked for $2,000. After hours of silence, Eh contacted authorities and the U.S. Embassy, who later found Tou Ger's body. He was held captive by a group demanding money for his release before being killed. Tou Ger was known for his dedication to serving others and will be remembered as a comedian, motivational speaker, educator, and activist. The Hmong community and local senators are offering condolences and support to his family.
