Tragic Shooting Claims Life of Belmont Student in Nashville

Jillian Ludwig, an 18-year-old Belmont University freshman, has died after being struck by a stray bullet while walking in a park near campus. Shaquille Taylor, who was allegedly shooting at a nearby car, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and evidence tampering. Taylor had previously been charged with aggravated assault but was found incompetent to stand trial and released. Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell called for a renewed conversation about limiting gun access for individuals known to be a threat to the community, while Metro Nashville Police are working with the District Attorney's Office to pursue higher charges against Taylor.
