Tragic Police Chase Ends in Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting near St. Joseph

A police chase spanning two counties in Illinois ended in a fatal officer-involved shooting south of St. Joseph. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Randy A. Jackson, was believed to be involved in two fatal shootings in Clinton, Iowa. After a standoff, the suspect refused to comply, and a state trooper discharged their firearm, fatally striking the suspect. No officers were injured, and an autopsy has been scheduled.
