Tragic Murder-Suicide Unfolds in Jefferson County

A man and a woman were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide after a barricade situation in Jefferson County, Colorado. The incident began when a family member called 911 reporting a domestic violence incident, stating that their father had a gun and was shooting at their mother. All three children inside the home were able to escape, but one child was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fired shots at the children and deputies upon their arrival, but no deputies returned fire. SWAT eventually entered the home and found the woman beaten and shot, while the suspect died by suicide. The children are now in the care of other family members, and the investigation is ongoing.
