Tragic Loss: Police Officer Fatally Shot in Alamogordo Chase

Officer Anthony Ferguson of the Alamogordo Police Department has died after being shot during a chase. The incident occurred when officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Dominic De La O for driving without lights. De La O fled the scene, crashed into a light pole, and fired a sawed-off shotgun at Officer Ferguson, hitting him in the face. Another officer fired back, striking De La O in the leg. De La O was subsequently apprehended, and the police department is holding a news conference to address the incident.
