Tragic Hit-and-Run Crash Claims Lives of Police Officer and National Grid Worker in Waltham

A Waltham police officer and a utility worker were killed in a hit-and-run crash on Totten Pond Road in Massachusetts. The suspect, Peter Simon, has been charged with two counts of manslaughter and armed robbery. Simon allegedly crashed into a car, continued driving, and struck the police officer and three other National Grid workers at a worksite. After hitting two more vehicles, Simon fled on foot, stole a police cruiser, and crashed it before being apprehended. The incident is under investigation.
