Tragedy in Nashville: School Shooting Leaves 6 Dead and Community in Mourning

A former student, Audrey Elizabeth Hale, opened fire at The Covenant School in Nashville, killing six people, including three children. Hale had detailed maps of the facility and considered another target. Police found written material and a map describing how the assault would unfold, as well as a plan to shoot up a different Nashville school that Hale scrapped because of “too much security.” The victims were identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, William Kinney, Hallie Scruggs, Mike Hill, Katherine Koonce, and Cynthia Peak. President Biden called for Congress to ban assault weapons.
