Texas Woman Sentenced to Life in Prison for Fatally Stabbing Tourist in Bed with Boyfriend

Lisa Dykes, a Texas woman who fled the country while awaiting trial, has been found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison for fatally stabbing Marisela Botello-Valadez, a 23-year-old Seattle woman. Dykes, who cut off her ankle monitor, showed no emotion as the verdict was read. Two other individuals, Nina Marano and Charles Anthony Beltran, still face trial on charges of tampering with evidence. The case gained international attention when Dykes and Marano cut off their ankle monitors and were eventually arrested in Cambodia.
