Texas State University Student Identified as Suspect in Fatal San Marcos Apartment Fire

Jacobe De Leon O Shea Ferguson, a former Texas State University student, has been arrested and charged with arson causing bodily injury or death in connection with the 2018 San Marcos apartment fire that killed five people. The arrest came after the Texas Rangers re-examined the evidence and conducted interviews. Ferguson was living at the apartment complex but was not a resident of the building where the fire started. No other arrests are expected, and additional charges may be filed.
