Teenage boy saves sister from abduction using slingshot

A 13-year-old boy from Alpena Township used a slingshot to fight off a 17-year-old man who attempted to abduct his 8-year-old sister while she was mushroom hunting in their backyard. The suspect had held the girl's mouth shut and tried to drag her into the woods. The boy hit the suspect in the head and chest with the slingshot, causing injuries. The suspect was charged as an adult with attempted kidnapping/child enticement, attempted assault to do great bodily harm less than murder, and assault and battery.
