Suspect in Fatal Hit and Run of 18-Year-Old Arrested by Police

A 45-year-old man, Raymond E. Jarvis, has been arrested in Calvert City, Kentucky, in connection with a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of 18-year-old Mercedeys Culligan. Jarvis is charged with leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid. The police had previously sought the public's help in identifying a silver pickup truck seen near the location of the incident, but now believe that Jarvis's SUV, a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, was the vehicle involved. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Calvert City Police Department. Multiple rewards totaling $49,000 have been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
