Suspect in Clinton hospital shooting killed in officer-involved standoff

Randy Allen Jackson, the suspect wanted in connection with two separate shootings at MercyOne hospital in Clinton, Illinois, was killed in an officer-involved shooting following a standoff. The Illinois State Police, along with other law enforcement agencies, pursued Jackson's vehicle and eventually located him in a detached garage. After refusing to comply, Jackson was shot by an ISP trooper and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
