Stockton Police Release Body Cam Footage of Sergeant's Shooting

Stockton Police Chief released body-worn camera footage showing the moment a sergeant was shot while responding to a carjacking. The sergeant, a nine-year veteran, was shot multiple times but survived thanks to his ballistics vest. The suspect, Sunthawon "Benny" Savon, was arrested and faces charges related to carjacking, attempted murder, assault, and possession of a stolen vehicle. The police are unsure how many shooters were involved. The police chief also discussed crime trends, stating that shootings are down 27% this year compared to last year, and arrests are up despite a decrease in the number of officers.
