Stepfather of Missing Madalina Cojocari Faces Court as Grandmother Claims She is Alive

The stepfather of missing 12-year-old Madalina Cojocari, Christopher Palmiter, has posted bond after being charged with failing to report her disappearance. A judge issued a $25,000 secured bond for Palmiter, significantly lower than the initial $200,000 bond. He is now subject to electronic monitoring and pre-trial supervision. Palmiter's attorney revealed that Madalina's mother believed they were in danger due to Palmiter investing in a retirement account that required her name as a beneficiary. Palmiter had voluntarily cooperated with detectives and believed Madalina was safe with her mother. Diana Cojocari, Madalina's mother, is also charged with failing to report the child's disappearance. Madalina was last seen getting off a school bus in November 2022, and authorities were not notified until almost a month later.
