"State Trooper's Harrowing Shootout: Brain Bleed and Skull Fractures Revealed"

An Illinois state trooper suffered a brain bleed and fractures to his face and skull during a shootout with a Chicago man, identified as Cristobal Santana, who is a suspect in a recent homicide in Chicago. The trooper had pulled Santana over during a traffic stop in Springfield when Santana fired multiple shots at him. Santana then chased the trooper, shot him at close range, and hit him in the head with his gun. Both the trooper and Santana are hospitalized, and Santana has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery to a police officer. The shooting death of Adrianna Lopez, allegedly by Santana, remains under investigation.
