Stalker Sentenced to Life for Murdering Drew Carey's Ex-Fiancée

Gareth Pursehouse, a man accused of stalking and harassing his ex-girlfriend, sex therapist Amie Harwick, for over a decade, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for her murder. Pursehouse strangled Harwick and threw her body off a balcony in 2020. The sentencing comes after Pursehouse was found guilty of first-degree murder and residential burglary. The judge also ordered him to pay restitution and funeral costs. Harwick, who was once engaged to comedian Drew Carey, was a prominent licensed marriage and sex therapist.
