"Stacey Abrams' Brother-in-Law Arrested for Human Trafficking and Assault in Tampa"

Jimmie Gardener, the brother-in-law of former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, was arrested in Tampa after a 16-year-old reported that he attacked her for refusing to have sex. Gardner invited the victim to his hotel room, and when she changed her mind, he became angry and physically assaulted her. He was charged with human trafficking, lewd and lascivious touching of certain minors, and battery. Gardner had previously been wrongly convicted of sexual assault in 1987 but was exonerated in 2016. He is currently in jail with no bond.
