St. Olaf College student charged for alleged violent plot

A student at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, Waylon Kurts, has been charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit threats of violence after authorities found a cache of potentially dangerous items in his dorm room, including knives, a tactical vest, empty ammunition and magazine boxes, and fireworks. Kurts' attorney claims that his client is a hunter and there is nothing that poses a threat to anyone. St. Olaf officials became suspicious of Kurts after finding empty packages for high-capacity magazines in a garbage can. Kurts was suspended from the college and arrested on suspicion of threats of violence.
