Spate of Homicides Plague Birmingham in Targeted Shootings

A man was shot dead in southwest Birmingham on Friday afternoon, with over 50 evidence markers found at the scene. The victim was identified as John Anthony Jackson, 43, and the preliminary investigation suggests he was specifically targeted. The shooting was almost identical to another homicide the night before, with both victims being shot while sitting in their vehicles outside their homes. Birmingham police believe there were multiple shooters and are encouraging people to be mindful of their surroundings. This marks Birmingham's 44th homicide this year.
