He allegedly hired co-conspirators to help with the shooting plot, and they are accused of shooting into the homes of two Bernalillo County commissioners who certified the election and two New Mexico state legislators, both Democrats. If convicted, Peña faces a mandatory minimum of 60 years in prison.
