Shooting suspect found dead in apparent suicide.

Jermaine M. Burnett, the suspect in a woman's shooting death in Columbia, Missouri, was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after a nearly nine-hour standoff with police. Burnett exchanged fire with officers and had taken hostages, but they surrendered. The University of Missouri Police Department will conduct an investigation. Burnett had been charged with domestic assault, property damage, and resisting arrest in previous cases.
