Shelbyville Mother Charged with Murder and Attempted Murder of Sons

A mother in Shelbyville, Patricia Sylvester, has been charged with the murder of her 12-year-old son and the attempted murder of her 4-year-old son. The father found the 12-year-old unresponsive at their residence, and neighbors called 911. Patricia and the 4-year-old were later found alive and questioned by police, where she admitted to killing her older son and attempting to kill the younger one. The investigation revealed that the 12-year-old died by strangulation. Patricia Sylvester is now in custody, facing charges of criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide.
