Senator demands investigation into DPS officer's alleged shove of Uvalde shooting victim's mother.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating an incident where a DPS trooper shoved a Uvalde mother who was picking up her son to participate in a national gun violence school walkout protest. The trooper prevented the mother from entering the school and warned her she would be under arrest if she continued. The incident occurred after a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in May 2022 that left 19 students and two teachers dead. A special committee formed after the shooting met last week to consider 17 bills aimed at enhancing school safety.
