Rising Teen Gun Violence in Birmingham Claims Third Victim in Six Days.

Kamaree Shondale Phillips, a 17-year-old high school student, was fatally shot outside an apartment complex in east Birmingham on April 1, 2023. He is one of three high school students killed in Birmingham during spring break and one of five teens fatally shot so far this year in the city. The police believe that the shooter may also have been young and that the victim was targeted. Birmingham has seen 27 homicides this year, and the police are urging the community to come up with a game plan to address the issue of gun violence.
