Repeat Offender: Suspected Shooter of 2 San Antonio Police Officers Released Twice in Past Year

Jesse Garcia, the suspect accused of shooting two San Antonio Police officers and injuring a third, had been released from jail twice in the past year. Garcia, who has a criminal record dating back to his teens, faces eight new felony charges and is currently being held in the Bexar County Jail. The Bexar County District Attorney's Office questioned why Garcia's bonds were not increased and highlighted the frustrations with the current bond system. Despite Garcia's prior arrests and pending cases, he has not been indicted yet. The district attorney's office did not push for higher bonds or temporary revocation after Garcia's second arrest in June.
