Released Inmate Without Ankle Monitor Attacks Ex-Girlfriend, Sparks Manhunt

A man who was released from jail without his court-ordered ankle monitor immediately attacked his ex-girlfriend, according to officials and a family member. The man, identified as Lewis Stokes, had been arrested for domestic abuse, child endangerment, and simple assault. After being released without the ankle monitor, he went to his ex-girlfriend's house and beat her, resulting in her hospitalization. Authorities are currently searching for Stokes.
