Rash of Shootings Plague Springfield Neighborhood.

Two men were killed and two others were injured in separate shootings in the troubled neighborhood near High and Union streets in Springfield. The shootings occurred less than four hours apart and about a block from each other. The Springfield’s Homicide Unit is investigating both crimes with the assistance of the Murder Unit attached to Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni’s office. The neighborhood has come under police scrutiny over the past three weeks following a June 7 double homicide on Union Street.
