Rash of Homicides Plague Southeast Austin, APD Investigates

The Austin Police Department has identified the victim of a Saturday homicide as 50-year-old Feliciano Alvarado-Lajuj. Alvarado-Lajuj died from gunshot wounds after being taken to the hospital. The shooting occurred in southeast Austin, and police believe he was shot in a parking lot by a suspect who fled the scene. This incident is being investigated as Austin's 53rd homicide of 2023. Authorities are urging anyone with information or video footage to contact the APD's Homicide unit or submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
