Rash of Deadly Shootings Shocks Portland and New Orleans

The suspect in two Portland shootings, which resulted in one man dead and another seriously wounded, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot near Pittock Mansion in Northwest Portland. The victims and the suspect were from the Ethiopian immigrant community. Concerned about potential further targeting, police provided protection to Ethiopian restaurants and businesses. The suspect was discovered dead inside a car in a parking lot, and authorities believe he was responsible for the shootings.
