Rampant Violence: Birmingham's Recent Spate of Fatal Shootings

A man was shot and killed outside a store in Ensley, Birmingham, marking the city's second homicide in less than 12 hours. The victim was found unresponsive inside a vehicle, and the gunfire detection system alerted police to at least six rounds fired in the area. Authorities believe an altercation occurred before the unknown suspect fired the fatal shots. No one has been arrested in connection with the incident. This marks Birmingham's 120th confirmed homicide this year, out of a total of 166 in Jefferson County.
