"Pro Rock Climber Convicted of Sexual Assault in Yosemite National Park"

Professional rock climber Charles Barrett was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in Yosemite National Park in 2016, using his fame to lure victims to the park. He was found guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual abuse and one count of abusive sexual contact, with sentencing scheduled for May 21. Barrett, known in the California climbing community, allegedly used force to assault the victim during a weekend in August. Three other women testified against him, but their cases were not charged federally. Barrett's attorneys plan to appeal the verdict, stating that they don't believe the evidence warranted a guilty verdict.
