Pregnant Illinois Woman Stabbed 70 Times in Marketplace Dispute; Suspect Charged

In Downers Grove, Illinois, 19-year-old Nedas Revuckas has been charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, arson and other crimes after allegedly stabbing pregnant Eliza Morales about 70 times during a dispute over a pickup truck listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace by Morales’ husband. Investigators say Revuckas started a fire after the stabbing and also harmed the family’s dog; Morales’s death occurred as loved ones mourned at a vigil, and her family noted she was months from welcoming a second child. A hearing was postponed to Thursday as the investigation continues.
