Police shootout on 10 Freeway leaves suspect dead and traffic chaos.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office identified the robbery suspect shot and killed by Monterey Park police as 30-year-old Jose Gonzales Morales. The police attempted to stop the suspect's vehicle, believed to be connected to an earlier robbery, but he failed to pull over, leading to a pursuit that ended on the 10 Freeway. The suspect fired shots at pursuing officers during the chase and again as he attempted to flee on foot. Police returned fire, killing Morales on a freeway ramp. One officer suffered minor injuries during the foot pursuit, and the investigation caused a traffic snarl for over five hours.
